Aluminum is characterized by its good appearance, light weight, machinability, physical and mechanical properties, and good corrosion resistance, making it considered the most economical and practical in many applications. These ratings can only serve as a general guide in the qualitative control of metalworking properties, i.e., they cannot be quantitatively used as the extreme values of formability.
Recyclability: aluminum is highly recyclable, and the properties of recycled aluminum are almost as good as native aluminum. This makes aluminium a darling of environmentalists.
